Listen & Learn: Lullabies
Many people know that a musical environment can increase a child’s aptitude in academia, but did you know that music is one of your most powerful tools as a new parent? When a mother or father sings to a baby in the womb, he or she will remember your voice and be comforted by your familiar and safe tone.
The best part is that babies don’t care if you have years of voice training or none whatsoever; they love your singing voice because it is a part of YOU! Studies show that babies are even more quickly comforted by parental singing voices than that of a music therapist or trained musician.
Listen & Learn: Lullabies is a workshop for expecting parents and caregivers to learn calming and soothing techniques for the newest little one in your family! We will explore songs from a variety of genres all while building confidence in the parents to sing and share the gift of music.
Participants receive mp3 downloads of the lullabies learned and sung in class, along with a binder full of resources to help you as you make music with your new baby once he or she is born.
