After saying goodbye to my last student of the spring session, I completed the move into the new studio.  Sadie (otherwise know as the Music Therapy Connections mascot) checked out the empty room in which so many lessons were taught, and so much progress was made through music therapy.

I know we’ll all miss the original Music Therapy Connections studio, but I hope you’re as excited as I am to get to work in the new studio this summer!  The doors officially open on June 13.  Are you on the schedule yet?  If not, but you would like to be, please register here.

For those of you who want to get a jump start on the Summer 2011 session, you can now download my open time slot schedule and provide your top 5 time slot preferences, as well as x out any time slot that you already know will not work for you and/or your student(s).

This goes for both existing and prospective students, although I will give higher preference to students who have been working with me the longest.  That being said, I will do everything I can to comply with everyone’s availability.

There are three ways you can submit your schedule preferences:

1. Email me with your top 5 time slots for each student, along with any time slots that will definitely not work.
2. Print the open time slot schedule, fill out, and return to me via snail mail (1423 S. Meadowbrook Road, Springfield, IL 62711).
3. Fill out and return to me in person (at your next lesson, church, etc.)

The sooner I receive your schedule preferences, the better!  Can you tell that I’m excited for the summer session? I hope you are, too.

In June, I will be opening up lots of new time slots…which means room for quite a few new students!  If you would like to learn more about lessons or music therapy services, please join my waiting list as soon as possible.  I will be filling slots on a first come-first serve basis.

Once I have received your registration information, I will contact you with further details.  If you aren’t sure if Music Therapy Connections is the right fit for you or your student, don’t hesitate to email me directly.

The Illinois Federation of Music Clubs’ District 4 Festival will be held in Springfield at the end of February.  Last year, several Music Therapy Connections students competed in the piano division, and I’m proud to report that each received a superior rating.  I hope that even more students will participate this year!  Students and parents, stay tuned for detailed information in the coming weeks.

Music Therapy Connections was in need of a facelift, and it finally got one this weekend. I’m looking forward to sharing the many successes of my students, as well as keeping you up to date with the latest happenings at the Music Therapy Connections studio.
